Order of Merit

The EWGA Order of Merit seeks to make a fair comparison between the performance of English women and girl amateur golfers across a spectrum of scratch tournaments and team events.

Points are awarded for all finishing positions down to 20th in stroke play and last 16 in match play. Each event is classified according to the quality of the field and a weighting multiple is applied to the points awarded. County team match results are awarded fixed points. The Order of Merit keeps a connection between the elite golfer and the county golfer. The Order of Merit does not determine team selection; it is one of many factors taken into consideration.
